Unbroken Grief and Grace

What Now?

Grief is the echo of love that refuses to fade.

It’s the sound of a heart still searching for meaning in the silence a loved one leaves behind.
The longing doesn’t vanish; it carves a space inside you, and that space becomes the shape of your life.
Grief is not about “moving on” — it’s about carrying forward. But how?
That’s the brutal question we all face.

I don’t have all the answers, but this is my “what now”:

Now, I breathe — even when it hurts. When my heart skips a beat at the sight of his picture, the sound of his voice in memory, the song we used to listen together.  I close my eyes and remind myself: while Larry is gone, his love is still here.

Now, I treasure the memories and the love he left behind.

Now, I practice kindness and appreciation — toward myself and toward those he cherished.

Now, I create — poems, stories, and memories that honor my Larry.

Now, I filter out the noise and focus on what truly brings meaning to my life.

Now, I connect — in small but sacred ways — with those who understand this pain.

Now, I survive — not just out of habit, but as a quiet rebellion against despair.

Now, I wait — not for forgetting, but for moments of peace, grace, and perhaps, joy.

Your “what now” doesn’t have to be grand or perfectly clear.
It can be as simple as this: a choice to stand in the emptiness and still live, still love, still hope.

And I’m here.
Walking alongside you through all your “what now” moments, every single time you need someone.
